As the first global communication design award dedicated to scripts beyond Latin and judged by native experts within each writing system, Bloom Award celebrates typography, language, and cultural diversity across contemporary visual communication.
Entries are accepted across 8 Script Groups and 9 media categories, including editorial, visual identity, packaging, motion, digital, and experimental design.
Winners will be announced in Spring 2027.

Established as the first global communication design award dedicated to scripts beyond Latin and judged by native experts within each writing system, Bloom Award celebrates the cultural richness and contemporary relevance of the world’s scripts across communication design.
Entries may be submitted across 8 Script Groups and 9 media categories, including visual identity, editorial design, packaging, motion graphics, digital experiences, campaigns, exhibitions, and experimental work.
More than a design competition, Bloom Award functions as an international platform where typography, language, identity, and culture intersect.
Selected projects gain international visibility through GRANSHAN’s global channels and partner network, while the 50 Best of the Best projects will be featured in the curated core exhibition and presented during the Bloom Award ceremony in Istanbul.
Winners will be officially announced in Spring 2027.

From Arabic, Armenian, Bengali, Chinese, Devanagari, Georgian, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and many others, the award highlights designers who give writing systems visibility, voice, and renewed presence within contemporary communication design.
Entries may be submitted across eight Script Groups and nine media categories, including:

More than a design competition, the Bloom Award functions as an international platform where typography, language, identity, and culture intersect.
Participants receive the opportunity to:
• Present work to native script experts and internationally recognised design professionals
• Gain international visibility through GRANSHAN’s global channels and partner network
• Become part of a growing archive dedicated to the diversity and future of the world’s scripts
• Contribute to a broader global conversation around communication design beyond Latin
The Bloom Award follows a non-hierarchical recognition model. Rather than awarding gold, silver, or bronze distinctions, all selected recognitions are considered equal — reflecting the belief that every script deserves visibility and cultural respect.
Selected projects will be featured internationally across GRANSHAN’s communication platforms and partner ecosystem. The 50 Best of the Best projects will additionally be presented during the Bloom Award ceremony and featured within the curated core exhibition in Istanbul.

The initiative is supported by the Supporting Foundry Club, whose contributions help strengthen the award’s long-term mission and international reach.
Alongside the award, GRANSHAN continues its SuFo (Supporting Foundries) Insights series, featuring perspectives on scripts, culture, typography, and design futures from leading studios and foundries including Cadson Demak, Parachute, TypeTogether, TypeType, Typotheque, and 29LT.
